Naya Rivera - Pointillism by MeikeZane Naya Rivera - Pointillism by MeikeZane
Naya Rivera, also known as Santana on Glee, is an extremely talented actress and singer.

This is my pointillism drawing of her, done with nothing but a Red Derwent Coloursoft pencil, and a lot of patience.

How do you do this technique?

I personally use colored pencils for this, but I'm the only one who does that.. It's just pointillism, most people use sharpies or markers. :) In darker parts, you put the dots closer together, lighter parts they're further apart. That's how you create the contrast.

This is wonderful!!
The likeness is awesome -- and it shows how you can make an amazing piece with just one pencil.

Awww! Too bad you hate it! I don't see a lot of people doing it, so I love doing something that's not very common, y'know? :D

Thanks

Thank you! I'm always a bit reserved before starting a new pointillism, because each one consists of thousands of dots.. Just the part on the bottom right is over a thousand dots already, I counted that bit when making it! And because I use coloured pencils, it means a lot of tiny wrist movements, which hurts when I do it for too long in one sitting!

So yeah, thanks. :D
